The 7th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival with the theme "I love Vietnamese ao dai" is the opening event for a series of events in the "Hello Ho Chi Minh City" campaign deployed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of tourism, which aim to introduce to visitors the image of Ho Chi Minh City – a destination "Vibrant - Safe - Attractive - Friendly".
Through 6 times organized continuously with increasingly expanding scale and more diversified content, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival is one of the prestigious annual cultural and tourism events which attract the attention of domestic and foreign tourists. The event has received the participation of Ao Dai designers, cultural researchers, artists, and celebrities for many years in a row.
The 7th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2020 is the first festival to be held in a completely new form: online combined with a live event to bring visitors and locals an impression of a unique, different and international festival. This year's festival lasts for 2 months, from October 11 to November 20, 2020 with many activities.

The most attractive point of this year's festival is the "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai" Campaign/Contest with the application of advanced technology - a personalized video application to help Ao Dai lovers around the world can produce their video clips based on the available sample videos to promote and introduce the beauty of Ao Dai and its culture. With the application of personalized video technology, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival aims of becoming the "Festival of Ao Dai lovers" of the world and bring the festival to all five continents through technology.

As in previous years, the inspirational program about Ao Dai continues to be held at a number of tourist destinations such as War Remnants Museum, City Post Office, High Schools and Industrial Parks. This year’s event had the participation of famous artists and celebrity to inspire the beauty and applicability of the Vietnamese Ao Dai to the young generation.
At the same time, the "Ao Dai - Cultural Heritage" conference at Ao Dai Museum helps promote the role of Ao Dai to the types of intangible cultural heritages in Vietnam: Xoan singing, Quan Họ folk songs, Practices related to the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms, Ví and Giặm folk songs, Nha Nhac - Vietnamese court music, Don ca tai tu music... The event aimed to preserve and promote the cultural valuesof Ao Dai and intangible cultural heritages which represent humanity in Vietnam.
Other activities will be organised by the Ao Dai Museum, the Southern Women Museum, and the War Remnants Museum such as: Ao Dai talk show (an exchange between the Association of Tea Cultural Heritage and Ao Dai Museum), Ao Dai Awards Ceremony for teachers and culturalists, as well as “Lam thon” dance in traditional costumes of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, a ticket discount promotion for visitors and citizens wearing Ao Dai when visiting and organising an Ao Dai exhibition, etc. Tourism businesses will organise tours to stimulate visits for the Ao Dai Museum, the South-Vietnamese Women Museum.
Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2020 also features celebrities such as People’s Artist Kim Xuan, People’s Artist Phi Dieu, Artist Trinh Kim Chi, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van – Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, and Tran Tieu Vy – Miss Vietnam 2018, among others, MC Quynh Hoa, MC – Editor Tan Tai, Singer Nguyen Phi Hung, Singer Kyo York, Tran Dang Dang Khoa – Travel Blogger , Models – Hosts Micka Chu, Nguyen Tram – First Prize Charming Ao Dai 2019, Phan Thanh Phong – First Prize Charming Ao Dai 2019,…

Besides, well-known designers including Si Hoang, Vo Viet Chung, Do Trinh Hoai Nam, Lien Huong, Ngo Nhat Huy, Viet Hung, Tuan Hai, Ella Thuy, Nguyen Tuan, Ta Linh Nhan, Nhat Dung, Hanh Le, OZ Design House, and Vu Thao Giang will also join Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2020.
Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2020 wants to inspire human values and spread the love for Ao Dai - an intangible cultural heritage, a unique outfit indispensable in Vietnamese people's life. Ao Dai is also a unique and impressive culture in the hearts of domestic and foreign tourists. The festival is a memorable point about promoting the image of Vietnamese Ao Dai, the destination, and the people of Ho Chi Minh City.
Therefore, the 7th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2020 received the coordination of the city's departments and management units, the response of enterprises and Vietnam Airlines Corporation - JSC (Vietnam Airlines).
The Opening Ceremony will be held at 6:30pm on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at the Museum of Vietnam History in Ho Chi Minh City, within the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens – a completely new place compared to 6 times organized previously.
